Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Approval of Safety Case (Novel Ships), the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contact Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer in Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji.
5. The CEO will verify the application, and further processing of inspection and assessment will be made.
6. The final approval will be made by the CEO. Finally, the approval Certificate for Safety Case will be issued to the application by the CEO.
7. The complete fee details for this application are given below in the “Fees” section of this page.
8. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.

Any individual who meets the eligibility criteria set by the MSAF are eligible to apply for the safety case approval application.

• The fee for the approval of safety case is:
• Application Fee - $28.75 (VIP)
• Assessment, Processing and Issuance Fee - $86.25 (VIP)
• Initial Audit and Inspection Fee - $575.00 (VIP)
• Annual assessment and Audit of safety case & safe management system Fee - $287.50 (VIP)
  

The validity of the Safety Case Approval certificate will be mentioned in the Certificate issued to the applicant.
