• An applicant can submit an application for renewal of his/her license to practice as a veterinary surgeon. The applicant needs to provide proof of attained prescribed Continuous development (CPD) points.
• CPD’s are activities or programs that provide added value to the capability of Veterinary Surgeons or Veterinary Para-Professionals through enhancement of knowledge, skills and personal qualities for appropriate execution of the veterinary profession.
• Veterinary surgeons have to acquire a certain amount of CPD’s for their licenses to be renewed.
• A minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the Credit Points in any CPD year must be accumulated from activities and/or programs that are veterinary - oriented.
• The maximum number of CPD hours that can be accredited for a one (1) day is eight (8) hours.
  

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew License to Practice as a Veterinary Surgeon, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Veterinary Association contact link
2. Applicant has to get the application form from the respective office.
3. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form.
4. Make sure you have all the documents mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the relevant office.
7. Proceed the appropriate fee and submit the payment receipt to the officer with the form.
8. On successful completion of this process, the applicant will receive the written confirmation of retention on the same day.
   

For one to be registered as a Veterinary Surgeon, the following requirements must be met: -

• You must be a registered veterinary surgeon, therefore, provide registration certificate.
• Provide proof of Current membership to a veterinary professional association.
• Provide proof of attained prescribed CPD points. i.e. CPD Record sheet
• Proof of Payment of the prescribed retention fee.
• Certificates showing CPD’s
• Provide proof of membership of a professional association.
• Completed form
