Apply In-Person:

1. To renew a Private Pilot Licence (PPL), the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority contact link
2. Applicant has to get the respective form and fill the form with the required details and attested with the applicant signature.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Applicant must have both photocopies and originals of the required documents.
5. And pay the renewal fee of 1000birr and attach the receipt for the proof of payment with the application form.
6. After completion of the form then it should be submitted to the relevant authority.
7. Upon the successful registration, the renewal of license will be issued within 30days.

A person who

• Must have an expired or valid private license.
• Be in a position of valid class 2 medical certificate.
• The pilot should have met the required flight renewal 5hours in the last 15mintues.
  

Registration fee is 1000birr.

The validity of the renewal license is about 12 months.

• The Private Pilot Certificate, internationally referred to as the Private Pilot License (PPL), allows students to obtain the foundational knowledge and skills for all future aircraft pilot training.
• As a Private Pilot, you can fly an airplane day and night (if one has a Night Rating) in visual flight conditions and carry passengers (friends, family, co-workers, etc.).
• You cannot fly for paid compensation or hire.
