Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain a Motor Vehicle Dealer General license, the applicant has to approach Ministry of Trade and Industry contact link
2. The applicant has to get the form from the respective authority.
3. Applicant has to enter all information that is mentioned under “Required Information” section of this page.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must have both photocopies and originals of the required documents.
6. Applicant must attach photocopies of documents (whichever is required) along with the application form while submitting.
7. Submit the application form and required documents to the authorized officer.
8. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
9. If the application is approved the applicant shall receive the licence within one week.

Any person carrying out business of buying and selling Motor Vehicles/ Trailers, has a responsibility to apply to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles for a dealer’s license.

Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.

The license validity for one year.

• A dealer’s general license is a license issued by Ethiopia Revenue Authority to a dealer in, or manufacturer or repairer of, motor vehicles.
