Apply In-Person:

1. Application for obtaining a diamond export permit in Ethiopia is available in the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTIn) contact link
2. Applicant must enter all necessary information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing the procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. There is no fee for this procedure.
6. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the permit will be provided within one day.
7. Applicant can get their permit on the same day of application.

• Quantity by weight of diamonds in metric carats.
• Types and Number of Packages.
• Number of Pieces.
• Name and Locality of Mines.
• Name and Address of Suppliers.
• Name and Address of Consignee.
• Agent and Place of Export.
• Diamond Value in Ethiopia and the other country’s currency.
