1. Application for obtaining a diamond dealers License in Ethiopia is available in the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTIn) contact link
2. Applicant must enter all necessary information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing the procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
6. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the license will be provided within 4 days.
7. Applicant can get their license by visiting the office or via post.
8. If there is no information regarding the license is provided within 4 days, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

• Quantity by weight of diamonds in metric carats.
• Types and Number of Packages.
• Number of Pieces.
• Name and Locality of Mines.
• Name and Address of Suppliers.
• Name and Address of Consignee.

• A diamond dealer’s license is necessary for any individual or a business owner to engage in Diamond dealings in Ethiopia.

• A Licensed Diamond Dealer must know details about the nature, weight and price of diamonds which they are dealing with.
• A Licensed Diamond Dealer must keep records of date of transaction, details of vendor’s authority to sell minerals etc.
