Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain a Sugar import license the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Sugar Corporation contact link
2. Application form for import sugar and its by-products will be given by the authority officer.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Upon successful submission, you are required to pay the requested import Permit fees.
6. After making the payment you will be issued with an import Permit for sugar and its Products. This takes a processing period of 7 days.
7. Non-compliance of permit rules and regulations can lead to suspension of permit and revocation of future applications.

Persons intending to import sugar and its by-products, should register with the Ethiopian Sugar corporation as specified in the regulations, and should apply for an Import license from the Board.

Fees to be paid as per the advice of the authority officer.

Permit issued for each specific import consignment, but fee is annual.

• An Import license is a license issued by the Board to allow the holder to take or cause to be taken out of Ethiopia sugar and its by-products.
