1. Application form for a media house registration in Ethiopia is available in Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority contact link
2. Applicant should provide necessary information in the application form.
3. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all necessary documents for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form before submitting it at the office.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the registration document will be provided within one week.
8. Applicant can receive the registration document by visiting the office after receiving notification from concerned authority.
9. If there is no information provided, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

The license is valid for 5 years.

All media enterprises operating in Ethiopia must register their Media House with the Government to operate legally.

• Any locally incorporated private media house can also register.
• If there are any branch offices of a foreign media house in Ethiopia, they can also register their media house in Ethiopia.
