Apply In-Person

1. To Get Unique Company Name, the applicant has to approach Ministry of trade and industry: link.
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted).
4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
8. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the procedure will be completed within a month by visiting the office or via post.

• Applicant must provide genuine information while applying for registration.
• Applicant should complete the application form before submitting. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the authority.
• Applicant should know rules and regulations of reserving a company name in Ethiopia.
• Proposed or names chosen by the applicant must not be similar to any other registered company names.

• Owner of a firm or company must reserve their company name with Ethiopian Trade and Industry office to own the company name and claim the name for themselves.

• Applicant must make a company seal that is specifically designed and can be commonly used.
• Company must have a bank account under the company name as company’s bank account.
