Ethiopia - Convert Foreign Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. Application form for Conversion of a foreign Airline Transport Pilot license in Ethiopia is done at the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority contact link
  2. Applicant has to enter all information that is mentioned under “Required Information” section of this page.
  3. Applicant must make sure to carry all documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. Applicant must have both photocopies and originals of the required documents.
  5. Applicant must attach photocopies of documents (whichever is required) along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Fee for this procedure is 20,000 Birr.
  7. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the applicant can get their document within 14 days.
  8. If the application is rejected, the applicant has to undergo the application procedure from the beginning.

Foreigners who are above 21 years of age and are willing to convert their license into Ethiopian license are eligible.

This certificate is necessary for a foreigner to work as an airline transport pilot in Ethiopia.

  • If the Applicant fails in a knowledge test, they will be disqualified.
