Ethiopia - Cancel VAT Or TIN


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Cancel VAT Or TIN, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority location link or the applicant can approach Ministry of trade and industry link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted)
  4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
  6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
  8. After payment was done, the authority will issue the hardcopy of license within the stipulated period of time.

Need for the Document

  • Where a VAT dealer ceases to carry on business, that dealer or his legal representative shall apply to the authority prescribed for cancellation of registration.
  • A value-added tax, known in some countries as a goods and services tax, is a type of tax that is assessed incrementally.
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN) is a unique identifier issued by Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority to a taxpayer.
