The transits visa is issued for periods maximum three to four days to persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Ethiopia and who intend to transit through Ethiopia to a different destination.

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for transit visa, applicant has to approach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Contact link1 or the applicant contact Immigration Nationality and Vital Event Agency in Ethiopia contact link2
2. Obtain the application form from the respective authority.
3. Complete the application form with necessary details.
4. Make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies along with the application.
6. Submit the application form to the concerned officer.
7. Fee to obtain transit visa varies depending on the hours which is mentioned in the “fees” of this page.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. After verification process, authority will issue the transit visa to the applicant.
   

• Passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date you intend to enter the country
• A scanned copy of your passport bio page
• A recent passport size digital photo (in color)
• Completed application form

• 12 hours - £20.00
• 24 hours - £32.00
• 48 hours - £40.00
• 72 hours - £48.00
  

Validity of transit visa is about maximum 4 days.
