1. Application for International Standard Book Number in Ethiopia is provided by the Ethiopian barcodes which is located in the Awlo Business Centre in Ethiopia contact link
2. Applicant has to enter all necessary information that is mentioned under “Required Information” section of this page.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry all documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Applicant must carry both photocopies and originals of all documents.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
6. Fee for this procedure varies depending upon the quantity of barcodes requested by the applicant. For one Barcode the applicant has to pay 1,599 Birr.
7. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the ISBN will be provided to them within one day while the applicant is still at the office.
8. If the application is rejected by concerned authorities, applicant has to undergo application procedure from the beginning.
   

Apply Online

1. International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is available in the Ethiopian Barcodes website link
2. Under the title “ISBN Barcode Images” title, quantity and fees for barcodes are available.
3. Applicant has to choose the number of barcodes needed from the quantity section and then click on “Add to Cart”.
4. If the barcode is added to cart, a tab with “Product successfully added to your cart” is shown.
5. Under the tab, click on the “View Cart” to verify the product chosen by the applicant.
6. After verifying the quantity and fee that has to be paid for it, applicant has to click on “Proceed to checkout” tab.
7. Applicant has to enter all necessary information under the “Billing details”.
8. Fee for this procedure can be paid via “Cyber Source Secure Acceptance” or “Bank Deposit” or “Cash on delivery”.
9. Finally, check on the box before “I have read and agree to the website terms and conditions” and then click on “Place Order”.
10. Once the order is placed, the barcode will be provided via E-mail or via post.
11. If the order is to be delivered via E-mail, the applicant can get it within one day.
12. If the order is to be delivered via post, the applicant can get it within 2-3 days.
