1. Application for extension of the research permit in Ethiopia is available in the Main Department for Immigration and National Affairs, Ethiopia contact link
2. Applicant must enter all necessary information requested in the application form.
3. Documents that are needed for completing application procedure are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. Applicant must carry both photocopies and originals of all those documents while applying for this procedure.
5. Attach photocopies of documents along with the application form (whichever is necessary).
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all above-mentioned procedures are followed properly, applicant can get extension of their research permit within 1 month.

This permit is necessary for continuing on an existing research in Ethiopia.
