Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply Trade Licence for Business Associations, the applicant has to approach the FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA - Ministry of Trade and Industry link
2. Applicant has to get the form from the respective office.
3. Applicant has to fill all the necessary details in the form.
4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit the completed form and the necessary documents to the officer.
6. Fee for this procedure has to paid as per the authority request.
7. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets the License by visiting the office within in one month.

For trade unions the following documents:

• Business Registration Certificate,
• Certified copy of the memorandum of association and bylaws of the association
• 2 photos taken by the manager of the association in six months
• If the application is submitted by a representative, a certified power of attorney and a photocopy of the representative's kebele ID or passport, and
• Certificate of Residence and Residence Permit from the Ethiopian Investment Agency
• If the registration is regional, a copy of the business registration certificate, memorandum and founding documents
• Evidence of capital allocated to the business
• If the house you are using for business is your own ownership map, a document certified if it is rented and a certificate from the kebele government confirming the address of the house
• It must be accompanied by a certificate from the relevant government office stating that the house in which the business is located is suitable for the business.
• Proof of competency from the relevant office
• Government agencies that certify businesses that require certification of competence or patents may request that the appropriate authority seek approval before issuing a license.
