1. Complete an application and submit it together with other required documents.
2. An interview will be conducted.
3. Based on the interview and documents submitted, the Directorate General of Immigration and Nationality will decide whether it will continue processing your application or not.
4. Pay all applicable fees.
5. You will be informed when your emergency passport will be ready.

You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of El Salvador in the country you are currently staying. You may submit your request to obtain an emergency passport at the consular services section.

• Completed application form
• Letter addressed to the Directorate General of Immigration and Nationality stating the reasons why you need an emergency passport.
• Two passport size pictures.
• Valid identification (photocopied, 150% enlarged)
• Proof of payment of fees
• Flight itinerary

Note: You may be asked to present additional documents depending on the reason why you need an emergency passport. To make sure that you have all the required documents when you apply, call the office first (contact information below).
