Egyptian passports are issued to nationals of Egypt for the purpose of international travel. Besides serving as a proof of Egyptian citizenship, they facilitate the process of securing assistance from Egyptian consular officials abroad if needed.
In case your passport was stolen or lost, you must issue a signed police statement that the passport is lost.
Please note that whoever holds more than one valid passport is subjected be punished by imprisonment for a time no less than three months and no more than one year, and/or paying a fine of no less than 1,000 EGP and no more than 5,000 EGP.
