Apply In-Person:

1. To renew works license in Egypt, the applicant must approach the Ministry of Manpower Contact link
2. An applicant has to approach the immigration service center and the applicants can get their application form.
3. Applicant must provide necessary information in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of the documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant from while submitting it at the office.
6. Then submit the complete application dossier to the Ministry of Manpower official at the Work Permit Unit Employment Division service desk.
7. The official will verify the application to confirm if the form is completed as required and check if all the required supporting documents have been provided.
8. After the verification process, applicant will be issued with the acknowledgment receipt of the application.
9. The official will evaluate the application and if it meets the required standards, the application will be approved for processing.
10. The applicant will then be notified of the approval through his/her contact details and the applicant will be required to pay the prescribed work permit fees and annual fees within one month of the approval. Pay the required work resident permit fees and the annual fees at the Ministry of Manpower cashier desk within the one-month period. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
11. Upon payment, the work permit will be renewed and issued to the applicant.
12. Even in the case of changes (address, work, status, marital status and transfer to another district, etc.) the renewal should be made on the same residence permit document.
13. The Processing time for this procedure takes2- 4 weeks.

• The applicant for renewal of a work permit in Egypt must be foreigner invited for employment in by a registered company in the country.
  

• The fee is EGP 5,000 for the first year of a work permit application/renewal, increased annually in the amount of EGP 1,000 until the third year.
• From the fourth year onwards the fee is EGP 10,000, increasing in the amount of EGP 1,000 annually up to the sixth year.
• From the seventh year onwards the fee is EGP 15,000 in case of approving the renewal of the work permit to be increased in the amount of EGP 1,000 annually up to the tenth year.
• From the eleventh year onward, in the case of the approving of the renewal of the work permit the fee is EGP 20,000 to be increased in the amount of EGP 2,000 annually for each following year up to a maximum amount of EGP 50,000.
• Note that fees vary slightly in practice.

• The validity for this work license is 5 years.

• Work Permits must be renewed prior to expiry every one to three years through the same process of applying for a permit.

• Renewal work permit application forms are obtainable at the Immigration Services office. The form requires three classes of information: Company, Employee and Employment contract details.
• Relevant and accurate information must be provided in all sections to enable the authority to effectively assess and the application on its own merits and take appropriate decision.
• The application forms should be signed by an authorized representative of the employer.
• The person who signs the application must attach relevant documents as a proof that he is an officer of the company (passport, a copy of residence permit etc).
