Apply In-Person:

1. To renew Shipping Agency License or Permit, the applicant ha to approach the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety (EAFMS). contact link
2. The applicant must collect and fill the required application form from the address mentioned above.
3. The applicant must apply for a Foreign owned vessel license with Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety (EAFMS) in the Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in Egypt.
4. The applicant must get the Application for a foreign owned vessel license from the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety (EAFMS) Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Customer Service Centre in Cairo.
5. Fill up the application according to the details mentioned in the “Required Information” section of this procedure.
6. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. The applicant must then submit the application to the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety (EAFMS) in Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
9. The applicant must also submit the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this procedure.
10. The renewal license will be issued within the stipulated processing period.
11. The processing time for this procedure is 1-3 months.

• The name and details of the vessel owner (including ownership shares if jointly owned with Nigerian citizens)
• The horsepower of the vessel
• The length and capacity of the vessel
• The registration number of the vessel
• Flag state under which the vessel is currently registered (if chartered from or jointly owned with Egyptian citizens)
• A valid safety certificate from the flag state
• Fishing sector in which the vessel will be deployed and the duration of the deployment

• This application is required to license foreign owned vessels. Without license, the foreign vessel will not be allowed to travel in the sea.
