Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a diplomatic vehicle, the applicant must approach the ministry of transportation: Link
2. To register a diplomatic vehicle, the procedure is similar to register a government vehicle, the only difference is in the Customs exemption limits, in that the exemption limit on selling a diplomatic vehicle under (PRS) is US$ 40000,--.
3. The applicant must fill and submit the application form for the procedure along with the required fee.
4. The applicant is also required to submit the required documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this procedure.
5. After the completion of the Forms listed above, Next, you need an application to the Traffic Police for permission to register the car, with a copy of payment documents the registration officer will forward them to the Police Officer attached to the Licensing office to append his/her signature on the Allocation form after verifying and satisfied with the documents along with the vehicle brought for registration.
6. On-site inspection technician inspect units of the car on each of their numbers would impose a special paper, rub it with a pencil and glue these pieces of paper with the "casts" a special registration card, which will be deposited in the archives of the department.
7. On-site inspection will inspect the fire extinguisher fire extinguishers for compliance with established standards, put the stamp on it and also make a mark in the registration card.
8. Upon receipt of the police endorsed document, the registration officer then process for payment based on the type and capacity of vehicle.
9. The applicant must then collect the issued number plate.
10. Applicants desired number is sent for VERIFICATION.
    • Documents submitted for registration of vehicle are confirmed with the above stated requirements.
    • Filling of special number request form by applicant after which payments are made to appropriate banks.
    • Applicant returns duly completed form and proof of payments
    • Produced special plates are documented and handed to the owner alongside other documents.
11. The issued number plate will then be handed over to the applicant; the number plate for Diplomatic mission vehicles differs from the private and government vehicles. The applicant must approach the office mentioned earlier to collect the license once they get notified by the authority about the same.

• Receipt of Purchase/Invoice;
• Delivery note from the company of purchase
• Passport photograph of the vehicle owner;
• Motor Vehicle Duty Certificate (Book C.191/FormC191) (Custom Card) to be submitted later for clearing.

According to the Law of Egypt mentioned in Circular Note No. 1 all Diplomatic & Consular Missions, Regional & International Organizations accredited in the Arab Republic of Egypt are required to register their vehicle. They are exempted from paying custom duties and other relevant taxes within the specified limits- provided that the required period is met and the sales tax is paid in case of it being due, taking into consideration the principle of reciprocity. A basic condition to consider a vehicle under Permanent Release System (PRS) is that it is released in the same year of production.
