Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain a Copy of Divorce Registration, the applicant must approach the Arab republic of Egypt.

4. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
5. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
6. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
7. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
8. There are two ways a Divorce can be granted: 1. Divorce by Mutual Consent. 2. Contested Divorce.
9. Now the lawyer files a petition in the concerned court of the applicant’s district.
10. Refer the location of the court in the “Office location & contacts” section below.
11. After some period, the court calls for a hearing. Make sure that the applicant has met all the requirements for completing the hearing.
12. The applicant will be notified of the date and time of the applicant’s court hearing by mail/post.
13. At the time of the hearing, the petitioner has to prove that they are not together for more than one year.
14. Once the hearing is over, the court gives a period of 6 months to reconsider their decision.
15. In case the petitioner does not withdraw the petition, the judge will grant the applicant’s divorce and set the terms.
16. The full agreement between the applicant and the applicant’s spouse will be “ordered” by the judge in a divorce decree.
17. Make sure the applicant gets a certified copy of your divorce decree.
18. The processing time for this procedure takes 15 days.
