According to the Egyptian laws and regulations, any foreigner intends to work in Egypt must obtain a work permit except for those categories specified in Article 2 of the Ministerial Decree No. 292 2010.Though the process for acquiring a work permit for Egypt can unfortunately be a complicated one and Egyptian authorities can be inefficient at times.
Any person before applying for a work permit must have secured a job long before arriving in Egypt and their employer will take care of the bulk of the paperwork involved in applying for a work permit. If you are planing to move to Egypt without a firm job offer, the process of getting a work visa can slightly be more complicated.
While it is possible to get a work visa and employment from within the country, the process is more difficult and certainly more uncertain at times. A person wishing to stay longer than three months should apply for an Entry Visa at least three months prior to arrival in Egypt. The required paperwork submitted for an Entry Visa changes often and is best handled by an agency or through the hiring company. The length and cost of obtaining an Entry Visa changes depending on the applicant's nationality and type of Entry Visa you are applying for.
Please explain what are other uses of obtaining this document/certificate. e.g. Birth Certificate can be used as proof of identity.
