Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Research Permit in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration Contact link.
2. The applicant must fill up all the required application form for this procedure or for research clearance.
3. The applicant must submit the required documents.
4. Refer to the “Required Documents” section of this procedure to learn more.
5. The applicant must submit the fees for this procedure.
6. A completed Research Clearance form to be downloaded or provided by the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH).
7. Application fee of USD $50 to be paid at COSTECH.
8. If your application is successful you will be required to pay research fee USD $300 per person at COSTECH.
9. The designated authority will review the submitted online application.
10. If the application is approved, the applicant shall receive the certificate within the stipulated processing period on their email address.

• A copy of pages of the passport with the detailed information of the passport holder
• Five passport size pictures of the applicant.
• Introduction letter from the institution or university inviting the applicant for research
• C.V and certificate of university or institution attended by the applicant
