Egypt - Apply for Travel Insurance


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Travel insurance in Egypt, the applicant must either approach the nearest insurance office, or local Embassy.
  2. The applicant must first fill up the application form required for the travel insurance with appropriate details.
  3. Refer to the “Required Information” section of this procedure to know more.
  4. Submit all the documents required along with the application form.
  5. Refer to the “Required Documents” section of this procedure to know more.
  6. Once the documents and application form is reviewed, the designated officer will issue a payment draft which the applicant will have to take to the bank and pay the required amount in addition to the bank charge.
  7. Then the applicant has to present the bank receipt, and upon verification of the payment, the applicant will be told to go and pick their Travel insurance certificate depending upon the processing period required.

  • Biometric data in order to obtain travel insurance and then a visa to travel to Egypt.
  • Visa authorization telex/invitation with reference number from Egypt or travel agent.




Need for the Document

Travel insurance covers medical expenses and financial losses while travelling, such as loss of luggage, non-refundable per-payments, trip cancellation fees, loss incurred as a result of bankruptcy of tour provider, theft of or damage to personal possessions including money, travel documents and passports, accidental death, and emergency evacuation/repatriation.
