1. To apply for Survivor Benefits in Egypt, the applicant has to approach the U.S. Embassy in Egypt. Contact link
2. Also refer to the addresses mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this procedure.
3. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form from U.S. Embassy office.
4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
5. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. A fee for this procedure is free of charge.
7. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
8. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the U.S. Embassy office.
9. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
10. After the notified period applicant gets certificate as per applicable delivery norms.

• A survivor benefit is a benefit which is paid by a pension plan to the designated beneficiary of an employee (usually a spouse) upon the death of the employee.
• In most cases, the employee must make an affirmative election to establish these survivor benefits, and must always keep a current beneficiary designation on file with the Plan.

• The survivor benefit is payable immediately, regardless of whether the death occurred during employment or retirement. It is fully indexed on an annual basis for the rest of your survivor's life.
• Eligible survivors are the spouse and children; if there is no surviving spouse or child, the benefit is paid to other dependent relatives.
