Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a real estate tax, approach the office of General directorate of taxes at ETA (Egyptian Taxation Authority).
2. Make sure to carry the required documents with you. Refer to the “Required documents” section to know more.
3. Submit the documents to the authorities along with the required fees.
4. The applicant will be called to collect the real estate tax.
   

• Prepayments made by authorized financial intermediaries holders of securities accounts
• Losses not charged financial intermediaries during the same tax year
• Dates and prices of acquisition of securities or weighted average cost reported to the financial intermediary

Real estate tax is levied at a flat rate of 10%. Real estate tax is levied after deducting the following assumed maintenance expenses: 30% of the rental value for residential properties. 32% of the rental value for non-residential properties.

Real estate tax is imposed on Egyptian real properties, payable by the owner. Whether the property is actually leased out or not, the tax is levied on the rental value of the property, which is assessed every 5 years for properties by the tax authority.
