Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Older person’s Grant, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Solidarity Department.

3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the Ministry of Social Solidarity Department.
4. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
5. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.( Both photocopies and originals)
6. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
7. The duly filled form must be attached with the supporting documents and submitted to theMinistry of Social Solidarity.
8. A fee for this procedure is free of cost.
9. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
10. This application will be processed and information will be verified by theMinistry of Social Solidarity Department.
11. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
12. After getting the notification from concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to collect their applicable means.
13. If there is no information regarding grant’s is not provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.
14. The Processing time for this procedure takes 14 days.

• The Older Person’s Grant also known as the state old-age pension is a monthly income for citizens, permanent residents, and refugees 60 years or older with no other means of financial income. This application process is essential for receiving the grant properly.
• The older persons fund is a long term philanthropic fund which promotes the civic engagement of older people, as a means of working towards making a difference in their communities.

• The maximum amount that the applicant will get is R1 890 per month. If the applicant is older than 75 years, you will get R1 910.
