Egypt - Apply for Laissez-Passer


Procedure

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Laissez-Passer, or for an emergency document, approach the consulate that has jurisdiction in the area.
  2. The applicant needs to fill in and submit the application form along with the required documents to the consulate.
  3. Please ensure you have all the documents with you mentioned in the “Required documents” section.
  4. Apply for the Laissez-Passer pass.
  5. Your request will then be forwarded to the Egypt for approval by the General Directorate of Immigration.


Apply through email:

  1. To apply for a Laissez-Passer, or for an emergency document, you can also mail the embassy of your region/country.
  2. In the mail kindly include all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this procedure.
  3. Please also include your personal and contact information. Refer “Required Information” section for more.
  4. Once your mail is received, the embassy will process your application.




Required Documents

  • Fully completed and signed visa application form with one photo stapled to the form and ONE copy of the completed application form with photo
  • TWO 2″ x 2″, recent high definition personal passport photos on white background (photo must be no more than 6 months old)
  • Actual Passport plus TWO copies of the information page (still valid for at least 6 months) and has an empty Visa page
  • TWO copies of official notes stating detailed purpose and dates of travel

  • Husbands full name in case of married women
  • Date and place of marriage

Need for the Document

Laissez-passer is issued to an Egyptian who is not holding a passport and going back to Egypt. Laissez-passer is also document that, under an agreement between Egypt , allows Children under the age of five years passport-free travel to other countries.
