Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Extension of the Research Permit in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration contact link.
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
6. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
7. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
8. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the authority.
9. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
10. After getting the notification from concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to collect their document.
11. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

• A letter from the affiliating institutions supporting the application for renewal.

• Students, Private individuals, Public Institutions or Private Institutions; either Egyptian or Non-citizen carrying out research in Egypt and are in need of an extension of their research period are eligible to make an application.
• One should possess a valid/ expired research permit to apply for an extension.

• A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

• Extensions of research period may be given to applicant for a maximum of two terms, with 6 months extension per term.
