Dominica - Apply for Travel Permit (Emergency Permit)


Procedure

  1. Go to the Immigration Department or the nearest Dominican High Commission/Consulate to apply.
  2. Secure the stamps needed and other documents to be submitted to obtain a Travel Permit / Emergency Permit.

  • EC $10.00 stamps*
  • One passport sized photograph
  • Birth Certificate
  • Previous passport


Note: Stamps are available for purchase at the General Post Office in Roseau and at its branches.

Processing Time

A Travel Permit is issued immediately upon proof that there is some form of emergency, for example if one's Passport has expired or one's Passport is in another country awaiting a visa.

Instructions

  • For Dominicans Abroad: if the passport goes missing or is stolen, you should report to the nearest Dominica Embassy or Consulate. The Embassy of the Commonwealth of Dominica will record the loss or theft of your passport and forward the information to the identity and passport service.

Need for the Document

A Travel permit or Emergency permit can be issued to persons who have had their passports stolen or missing in the event of an emergency. The permit though is issued on emergency cases to Dominica citizens travelling to English speaking Caribbean countries, except Tortola. The individual must provide proof of the emergency.
