1.Any person who wished to obtain a rental box in Djibouti starts by locating the most appropriate agence postale le (Poste de Djibouti branch / regional office). These agence postale le (branches and regional Offices of Poste de Djibouti) can be viewed by visiting http://www.laposte.dj/bureau.html;

2.When the nearest post office (agence postale le) is identified, the applicant should visit the office to find out the procedure and requirements for obtaining a rental box;

3.When the above information is obtained, the applicant goes ahead to prepare the required documents and make copies of the same;

4.Thereafter the applicant should go to the identified post office and obtain an application form to open up a post office box;

5.Fill the form carefully and accurately;

6.Attach all the required documents on to the filled application form and submit the documents to the officers at the identified post office;

7.When application is received, documents are viewed and examined; and if approved, the applicant shall then be require to sign a subscription agreement;

8.Upon signing the subscription agreement, the applicant is supposed to also make payment for subscription fees initial period and for the following year;

9.Thereafter a key for the rental box is issued to the subscriber.

7.Applicants must also know that La Poste Djibouti may automatically terminate a customer's subscription upon violation of the Postal law, rules and regulations;

1.Full name and address of the applicant

A Rental Box also referred to as a post or letter box is a box through which the owner can alternatively communicate to the outside world. In this case, the owner of a rental box receives correspondences like letters, documents, goods, packages and parcels. All issues related to post including issuance of rental boxes in Djibouti is done by the Djibouti Post Office known as Poste de Djibouti.

• If the applicant applies and Subscribes for a rental box during the last two months of the year (November / December), he / she shall be exempted from paying for the following year;
• Any person who owns a rental / post office box is given up to the end of February of every year to renew subscription upon expiration. If a subscriber does not renew his / her subscription in the given period, a penalty fee is added on to the subscription fees;
• In cases where a subscribe does not renew subscription completely, La Poste Djibouti may terminate subscription and a rental box may assigned to a new applicant;

• With a rental box a person is able to communicate with the outside world;
• Government collects revenue through taxation
