Djibouti - Obtain National Identification (ID) Card


Procedure

  1. To obtain a national identification (ID) card, applicants will need to submit their application in person at the .
  2. Submit your application together with these following documents:
    1. Identity document of both parents where one of both parents, if one parent is deceased: death certificate of the deceased parent.
    2. Four ID pictures.
    3. Original birth certificate (not older than 3 months).
    4. If you are / were married: marriage plus certificate of birth of the children if possible.
    5. Documentary evidence of citizenship if you are not Djibouti national by birth
    6. For students: school certificate or school ID.
    7. For those who are employed: proof of your employment
  3. Pay the application fee.
  4. It will take about 3 to 4 weeks before your card is ready for release. Keep your receipt, you will need to present it when you claim your card.
