How to apply

1. You should report the incident to the nearest police station immediately, upon which you will be issued with an information sheet, which is to be completed and signed by the register/authorized official at the Directorate of Mines and Road Safety office.
2. Visit the Ministry of equipment and transport, Directorate of Mines and Road Safety office near you and approach the service desk and express your interest.
3. Submit the information sheet, which is to be completed and signed by the register/authorized official at the Directorate of Mines and Road Safety office.
4. Return to the police station with the completed information sheet and submit it to the attending officer, who will then issue you a declaration report of loss or theft of the registration card.
5. Return back to the Directorate of mine and road safety office with the declaration report and pay the required fees, upon which you will be issued with a receipts/acknowledge slips.
6. If the authorized official/Register is satisfied that the police report is authentic and in order, you will be issued with the duplicate vehicle registration card within 2 to 3 days.

All vehicle owners registered in Djibouti are required to report their vehicle registration card in case there get lost or stolen to the police station immediately and obtain a duplicate certified vehicle registration card copy issued by the Directorate of Mines and Road Safety, so as to be able to prove ownership and be able to operate legally in Djibouti.
