How to apply

1. You should visit the municipality office or the Ministry of Housing, Town planning and environment Department of housing and town planning office near you.
2. Submit the request letter for a certificate of general compliance along with the supporting documents (listed below under “Required Documents”) to the attending official for verification and processing.
3. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the documents are in order you will be issued with the certificate of general compliance within 7 working days.

• Request for a Certificate of General Compliance
• Copy of the Certificate of Alignment (supplied by the Directorate of Land and Land Conservation)
• Copy of the Certificate of Sanitation (provided by the Department of Hygiene)
• Copy of the Certificate of Electrical Compliance (provided by the Department of Housing and Town Planning)
• Copy of the Certificate of Earthquake Compliance (provided by the Department of Housing and Planning)
• Copy of the Building Permit (provided by the Department of Housing and Town Planning)

A certificate of general compliance is an authentic certificate issued by the Directorate of Housing and Town Planning, it makes it possible to declare the completion of the works/construction on a site or building have abide to all the laws and regulation set by the building and construction act in Djibouti.
