Exchanging your foreign license
Driving test
You do not need to take a driving test to convert your foreign driver's license, if the license is issued in an EU or EEA country, and the issue has not been done on the basis of a license issued in a country outside the EU / EEA or if the license is from the Faroe Islands. The same applies if the license was from Australia Capital Territory, Brazil, Japan, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Republic of Korea (South Korea), Russia, Ukraine or Switzerland. This follows from the executive order on the exchange of foreign driving license to Danish driving without a driving test. Holders of driving licenses issued in countries other than those mentioned above can only exchange their foreign driving license for a Danish driving license if they have passed a driving test (theory and practical).
Identification
To prove your identity, you must bring your any previously issued license of the EU model or your valid passport. If you do not have any of those, you can bring your original baptism, name or birth certificate, health card or other suitable identification document specially those that have a photo of you. Documents showing proof of your identity must be issued by a public authority
If you got an identification document but your birth date or birth place is not clearly stated in the document, you will need to providea certificate of identity where your birth date and birthplace clearly stated.
In case your full and used name does not appear in your identification papers, you may be asked to provide proof of the name change by producing a marriage certificate, a certificate of name or documentation for the marriage authority or the population register.
Other documents that you may be asked to submit:
Translation of the license
Some municipalities would require you to accompany your application with translation of your license. A translation will generally be necessary unless the license text is printed in English, or in the case of a driving license from an EU or EEA country. The translation must be done by a translator or a translator approved by the National Police. The applicant will bear the cost of translation.
