Apply In-Person:

1. Approach the local RTO office near you to change or update the address or other information in driver license (DL).
2. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
3. Completed respective application form
4. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for updating address the driver license by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
6. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
7. You will receive an acknowledgement slip after paying the amount.
8. If the authority is satisfied with the documents provided and the application will be processed and you will receive your updated DL in approximately 30 days.

Apply Online:

1. To change the address in driver license, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.

Apply through Centres:

1. To Change Address in Driver License in Daman & Diu, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the mandatory application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the amendment.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Make the requisite payment required for the process (if applicable).
6. Now, submit the application to the office of the concerned centre and obtain the acknowledgement slip.
7. After successful verification, the change or update in the License will be made by the concerned authority.
8. Obtain the license from the concerned CSC centre by showing the acknowledgement slip.

Applicants who already own a legal and valid driving license can apply to update or change the information in their driving license.

Pay appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989.

The validity of the DL is usually 20 years and will be mentioned on the updated driving license that you’ll receive.

Driving license is mandatory while driving a two wheeler or four wheeler and one must keep it up to date with the latest information.

• Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 in India, no person can drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds a valid Driving License issued to him, authorizing him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.
• Driving without Driving license is an offense. Incumbent has to pay penalty
• It is a punishable offense to drive the vehicle without a valid license
• Those who are under 18 Years are not supposed to drive
