To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply In-Person through Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

1. To apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme ,visit the nearest Daman municipal Council / Daman municipal Council

3. Get the application form from the Concerned Officer or write it on an A4 sheet.
4. Fill the application form with all the necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the Daman municipal Council / Daman municipal Council.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote.
7. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
8. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
9. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.

Apply through Centres:

1. To apply for Widow Pension in Daman & Diu, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided: Link
2. Procure the mandatory application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the certificate/card.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Make the requisite payment required for the process (if applicable).
6. Now, submit the application to the office of the concerned centre and obtain the acknowledgement slip.
7. After successful verification, the Pension will be issued by the concerned authority.
8. Obtain the Pension from the concerned CSC centre by showing the acknowledgement slip.

• BPL Status Certificate (verifiable through Ration card)

• The applicant must be a widow.
• The applicant must be above 40 years of age.
•  An amount of Rs 300/- is payable to such pensioners aged between 40-79 years.
• After attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs 500 per month.

The Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) under the National Social Assistance Programme provides pension of Rs. 300 per month to widowed women in BPL category and above 40 years of age. After attaining the age of 80 years, the woman is eligible to receive Rs. 500 per month.
