Procedure
Apply via Agent
- The subsidy for bee-keeping will be available for activities on development of nucleus stock of Honey Bees, Bee Breeding, Distribution of Honey Bee Colonies, Hives and Bee-keeping equipment’s.
Apply in person
- To apply subsidy for beekeeping in Daman and Diu, the applicant has to approach the National Bee Board, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.
- Procure the application form from the concerned office,
- Fill it out with necessary details.
- Make sure to attach all the required documents.
- Once verified, the subsidy will be released.
- Get the subsidy from the concerned authority.
NOTE:
- The department of horticulture announces plans for disbursement of such subsidies through electronic and printing media. It is advised to regularly follow the local newspaper for such announcements.

Eligibility
- Applicant between the ages of 18 and 55 are eligible to apply.
- One person from one family is eligible to apply.
- Applicants already trained in Bee-keeping activity by KVIC/NABARD/KVK and other approved training centres are eligible to apply.
- All those farmers involved in Bee keeping with own land or having registered lease land is eligible to apply for this subsidy.
Fees

- The Bee keeping subsidy are provided under three categories.
- Honey bee colony.
- Honey hive.
- Honey extractor.
- The State government provides a subsidy of 40% assistance for Bee keeping (installation of bee hives and colonies).
Note:
In few states the percentage of this subsidy is more than 40%. Please find the percentage of subsidy from the authority while applying.
Validity
- This approved work order should be used within the timeline as advised by the sanctioning authority.
- The subsidy benefit will be passed on to the respective bank account against the loan availed or credited to the applicants account upfront at the time of purchase of the unit.

Instructions
- Bee-keepers who failed to multiply their bee colonies from 10 to 18 over a year should surrender all their bee colonies, hives and kits.
- Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get this sanction.
- Incomplete application will be rejected.
- Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
- Don’t forget to take all the originals of the document along with copy for applying.
- Ensure that application is complete before submission.

Need for the Document
- This subsidy work order issued by the horticulture department of respective state will be helpful to get the bank loans.
- This subsidy enhances the quality of honey production and other bee hive products for overseas and domestic markets, besides enhancing productivity of various crops through bee pollination.
- Thus, increasing the employment opportunity in rural sector and thus enhancing the ancillary income of the beekeepers & farmers.
- In order to maximize agricultural production, honey-bee can be used as an important input. The responsibility of coordinating the bee-keeping development programme in the State will be vested in the identified State Designated Agency (SDA).
- National Bee Board (NBB) will be responsible for providing technical support as well as implementation of promotional programmes relating to the bee-keeping.
