Every marriage solemnised by an Officiating Minister must be recorded in the churh Marriage Register.
After the marriage ceremony, a copy of the marriage entry must be sent by the officiating minister to the Registrar-General, Rarotonga within 10 days of solemnisation. The marriage "form 4" is to be used for this purpose.
The parties to the marriage, two witnesses and the Officiating Minister must personally sign the entry in the Marriage Register and also the copy for the Registrar-General.
The Officiating Minister must complete the bottom portion on the reverse side of the copy by entering the full date and place of marriage. He/she must also complete and sign the certificate that he/she officiated at the marriage and that he/she has recorded the marriage in the Marriage Register.
Once a marriage is registered, you may now request for a copy of the marriage certificate.
