Connecticut - How to obtain a Divorce Certificate

  1. Go to the Judicial District Clerk's Office in the court location where the divorce took place.
  2. Submit your request to obtain a divorce certificate.
  3. Present documents needed by the clerk's office.
  4. Pay the appropriate fee.

Obtain a copy of a document filed in your divorce case from the Judicial District Clerk's Office in the court location where the divorce took place. Your divorce decree is referred to as the "Judgment File."

NOTE: The Vital Records Office does not receive copies of divorce decrees.
