Notes:

• When you register and set up email secret questions, you must select one of them to regain their unique key.
• In case you only have a registered email address, you will receive a new activation code allowing you to create a new unique key.
• Only secret questions posted through these can create a new unique key.

Through the OfficeEdit

1. Go to the Office of the Civil Registry and Identification.
2. Approach the officer for identification modules. Present your identity card and passport.
3. Tell the officer that you want to get your unique key.
4. After the official has verified your identity through biometrics, you will be given an activation code.
5. Log in to http://www.registrocivil.cl and click the link "Turn unique key".
6. Complete the requested data, along with your activation code.
7. Follow the steps and get your unique key.

• For the Internet or Online: your e-mail or the answers to your secret questions
• For the Office: a valid identity card (must be in good condition)

• Telephone Number: 600 370 2000
• To view Chilean Civil Registry and Identification location offices, go to this site: http://www.registrocivil.cl/ and click on the "Offices and Times" tab.

There is no fee in obtaining a one key recovery (unique key).

• The activation code is a combination of 6 letters, you can get in the office and which allows only key in www.registrocivil.cl.
• Once your identity is verified this code will be active and you can use it.
• If you encounter problems, you should contact the Civil Registry and Identification by calling 600 370 2000.

A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.

1. Date of Birth.
2. City or County of Birth.

The unique key is a system that allows online transactions that need to be executed only by the owner. A password can be recovered by selecting an email secret question in which only you could answer.
