Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a land mortgage certificate (Encumbrance Certificate) in Chhattisgarh, the applicant has to go to the respective sub-registrar’s office where the land is registered or the Tashildars office.
2. The applicant can find the location of all offices here: office location
3. You will be given forms that you need to fill with all relevant details, and affix a non-judicial stamp, along with required documents as listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The applicant will have to pay a small fee which will be told to you at the office.
5. The applicant will receive a transaction id and application id that you can use to track the application.
6. An SMS will be sent to you once your certificate is ready.
7. The applicant can go to the office to collect their certificate.

You will need the EC to prove that the land belongs to you, as well as to register your land if you want to sell it or mortgage it.
