Transfer of permit is applicable when the permit holder dies or in case of age factor to the rightful legal heir.

1. To Transfer Contract Carriage Auto Permit in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.

• Contract Carriage Autorickshaw Permit is needed for a Autorickshaw to carry passengers on a hire basis from one point to another.
  
• One cannot operate his vehicle without this permit in the allowed route.
  
• The need for transferring Contract Carriage Autorickshaw (Pucca) Permit arises with the demise of the owner of the permit. The legal heir has to apply for transfer of the permit.
  
• Auto Rickshaw is a three wheeler vehicle constructed or adapted to carry maximum of three passengers excluding the driver for hire.

• Auto rickshaw’s should have the meter fixed in to get the fare amount for the ride
  
• FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
