Chandigarh - Apply for Particular Contract Carriage Permit

Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for Particular Contract Carriage Permit in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
  2. Complete the Application in FORM XXII P.C.O. P.A. for A CONTRACT CARRIAGE PERMIT
  3. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
  4. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
  5. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  6. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, seating arrangements etc.; will be carried by authorities.
  7. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed.

Apply Online:

  1. To apply for particular contract carriage permit, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
  2. In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
  3. The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
  4. Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
  5. The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
  6. Please follow the steps to complete the application.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  4. The operator will process the application online.
  5. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  6. An inspection will be held to check the vehicle.
  7. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
  8. If verified, the license will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying in a stipulated period of time.

  • Complete the Application in FORM XXII P.C.O. P.A. for A CONTRACT CARRIAGE PERMIT
  • Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
  • Fitness Certificate.
  • Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
  • Insurance Certificate.
  • No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
  • Pollution Under Control Certificate
  • Payment of green tax wherever applicable.

Need for the Document

  • Particular Contract Carriage Permit is the most common type of permit. The permit grants the holder the right to operate under a contract with his client for a specific destination. He cannot pick passengers other than those mentioned in the permit.

Information which might help

  • This permit does not entitle the holder to use the vehicle herein described as a stage carriage or as a goods carriage.
  • FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
