• You may apply to obtain a residence card if you are a foreign national residing in Cape Verde, this will legitimize your stay in the country.
• To apply, gather all necessary documents.
• Submit your request along with all other required documents.
• Pay the appropriate fee.

To obtain the residence card for the first time:

• Petition addressed to the General Commander of the National Police
• Criminal Record Certificate issued in the country of nationality, duly translated into Portuguese and authenticated by the consular services of Cape Verde (original document)
• Criminal Record Certificate issued in Cape Verde
• Medical Certificate issued by the Health Department
• Certificate issued by the Registration Officer or Police Station in charge of public order in your area of residence
• Certificate of Residence issued by the Municipality
• International requirements for vaccine;
• Document that proves where you are staying in Cape Verde,
• Three colored passport photographs,
• Photocopies of your passport (pages containing identification, visa and entry stamp in the country).
