Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a Phytosanitary Certificate, Applicant shall approach the local CFIA office. Contact details are listed below under the “office locations and contacts” section.
2. You have to submit an Application form to the local CFIA office.
3. Application form can be found on the following link: Link scroll down on the page.
4. Download the application form and fill up your details.
5. Please make sure you have all the required documents that are listed under the Required Document” section of this page.
6. The applicant shall present the duly filled application form and documents to the local CFIA office.
7. In order for the exporter to ensure receipt of the phytosanitary certificate prior to shipping, the CFIA should receive the application at least ten (10) working days before the date of shipping.
8. The CFIA inspects the shipment; Phytosanitary certificates are only issued when the importing country requires it as a condition for import and when the plants, plant products and other regulated articles in the shipment meet the phytosanitary import requirements of the country of import.

The Certificate is valid per shipment or consignment. A new shipment requires a new Phytosanitary Certificate
