• Next, visit your nearest BCAA office and bring the required documents.

• Your completed application form
• A photocopy of both sides of your Canadian drivers license
• Two passport photos (you can get these taken at any BCAA office)
• The required fee to pay for your International Drivers License

An IDP is only valid for one year from the date of issue.

• Apply directly to BCAA (British Columbia Automobile Association) to get your permit.
• IDPs issued by BCAA are only valid outside Canada.
• The Canadian IDP is translated into ten languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, German, Arabic, Italian, Scandinavian and Portuguese.

A list which displays the kind of information which is required to complete the procedure.
e.g.
1. Date of Birth.
2. City or County of Birth.

A Canadian International Driving Permit is a translation of your current valid license and when accompanied by that license legally allows you to drive for up to one year in other countries. These permits are not valid in all countries, so check with BCAA before you travel.
