• You can now order certificates using our new secure on-line electronic ordering system, in addition to ordering by telephone using a Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card.
• We suggest that you utilize our new secure electronic ordering system when making application by credit card. This easy convenient way of ordering your documents on-line provides an immediate application, notice of receipt to you and in most cases, where full and complete information has been provided, will have your request in the hands of Canada Post for delivery the next business day.
• Please note that due to high volume demands on our operators taking the credit card orders by phone, you may find that waits for the next available operator can be lengthy.

Online ApplicationEdit

Using this Electronic Ordering System to complete an online order, you will be asked to:

• Select the type of service you wish to apply for
• Select the reason you require the certificate(s)
• Identify your relationship to the person named on the event
• Provide details of the event
• Identify the number of certificates required
• Provide your name, mailing address and contact information
• Pay for your order by credit card

A BC birth certificate may be ordered by the following:

• The person who is the subject of the certificate.
• A parent of a child under 19 years of age, or if the child is incapable.
• A custodial guardian if the parent is incapable
• A person with written authorization from one of the above.
• An officer of any provincial government or the government in Canada who requires the certificate for discharge of official duties.
• Any other person who satisfies the Chief Executive Officer of the good faith of the person's cause for requiring the certificate.

• Birth Certificate - $27.00

Note:
An inclusive charge of $60.00 will be made for Courier Service applications for Certificates or Photocopies of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Change of Name. Courier service requests are produced the next business day. Delivery time by courier is dependent on the shipping designation. A certificate will be generated upon confirmation of a record held. A birth, marriage or death certificate cannot be issued if the birth, marriage or death event is not registered. Courier service is only available for events which are registered. Please note speed of processing for each event registration can vary. It could take up to three weeks to process your courier request, if the event is not registered at the time your request is received. If no record of the event is found, a fee will be charged for the search process.
