1. To Request Occupant Regularization in Settlement, the applicant has to approach the Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária - INCRA link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. Then the application will be processed further.
10. The responsible authority may conduct inspections to verify the applicant’s occupancy and compliance with settlement regulations. Cooperate with any requests for site visits or inspections, providing access to the applicant’s property as required.
11. The responsible authority will review the application, assess the applicant’s eligibility, and make a determination regarding the regularization of his/her occupancy. This process may take some time, and it's important to remain patient during the evaluation period.
12. If the applicant’s request is approved, he/she will receive documentation indicating the regularization of his/her occupancy in the settlement. This documentation serves as legal proof of his/her status and rights as an occupant within the settlement.
13. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
