• The TEC Map of South America (TECMAP) is a product of the INPE (InstitutoNacional de PesquisasEspaciais) Space Weather Study and Monitoring Program. It is a map that shows the distribution of the total electron content (TEC) in the ionosphere over South America. The TEC is a measure of the number of electrons in the ionosphere, and it is used to study the ionosphere's response to different space weather events.

• The TECMAP is produced using data from a network of ground-based Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers. The receivers measure the time it takes for GNSS signals to travel from the satellites to the receivers, and this time delay is used to calculate the TEC.
• The TECMAP is updated every 10 minutes, and it is available online at the INPE website. The map can be used to study the ionosphere's response to different space weather events, and it can also be used to predict the impact of these events on satellite navigation and communication systems.
